Questions about the app, problems with your account, reports about something someone posted, privacy requests — all of it goes to one address, and a person reads it.

We review every report within 24 hours and remove content or remove people who break the rules in our Terms of Service. If something is urgent, say so in the subject line.

Reporting something in the app

Group messages, profiles and individual pings each have a report option. You do not need to email us first — reporting in the app is faster, because it sends us the content along with the report.

  1. Find the Report control

    For a ping, use the Report button on the ping itself in the group's feed. For a person, open the group's member list and tap their name. For the message a group sends, open the group and go to Settings → Report this group's message.

  2. Pick a reason

    Harassment or bullying, hate speech, sexual content, violence or threats, spam, or something else. There is a box for extra detail, and detail helps us act faster.

  3. We look at it

    Sending the report saves a copy of the content as it stood at that moment, so it cannot be edited away afterwards. We review it within 24 hours.

If you want someone gone right now

Reporting waits on us. Blocking does not — use it if you do not want to wait for a review.

  • Block

    Open the group's member list and block them. It takes effect immediately and needs no approval from us: their pings and reactions disappear from your feed and yours from theirs, and neither of you sends the other notifications. They are not told.

  • Leave the group

    Always available, and no admin has to approve it. If you created the group, it carries on without you and another member becomes the admin.

  • Remove a member

    If you are an admin of the group, you can remove someone from it. Unlike blocking, removal ends their access to the group entirely.

  • Delete your account

    In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete account. It completes in the app, and it removes your profile, your pings and your reactions.

What we do about a report

Depending on what we find, we may replace a group's message so it shows as "message removed" while the group otherwise keeps working, replace a display name, or suspend or permanently close an account. Where something appears to be illegal we keep the records and contact law enforcement.

If we remove your content or close your account, we will tell you what we did and why. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that message or email us and a person will look again. The full policy is in section 8 of the Terms of Service.
